The Futaba connector is called the "J" connector. The Hitec connectors are referred to as the "S" connector, and Airtronics calls their new connector the "Z" connector. The Futaba "J" has a tongue on one side and the Hitec "S", JR, and Airtronics "Z" connectors all have two corners beveled. The "S", JR, and "Z" are essentially the same connector. An "S", JR, or "Z" will fit Futaba receivers. A "J" plug will require a little modding fit into the Hitec, JR, or the Airtronics receiver. If the receiver has the case removed ( all pins out in the open), then all of the connectors will fit without modification. Just match signal to signal and negative to negative.
